As a young person growing up in Scotland, I was lucky enough to receive flute lessons at school, going on to study music at the University of Glasgow. Having benefitted hugely from taking part in youth orchestras such as the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, my career since has involved ensuring that young people continue to have access to these unique, confidence-building opportunities. I believe that participation in music, from a community level to national platforms, can change young people's lives and it is a joy to connect more people with the impact of choral singing through my work as a fundraiser.
