We provide pathways into choral singing for young people across the UK. Our SING! project reaches young people in schools and communities across the UK by offering free singing sessions in targeted areas.
We train the choral leaders of tomorrow through our Emerging Professional Artists programme, and support a growing network of UK choral professionals with musical resources and freelance opportunities.
Singers from National Youth Choir regularly perform at high profile events and live broadcasts including the Royal Variety Performance and the BBC Proms. Recent performance highlights from our professional ensemble, National Youth Voices, include Avatar Live in Concert, Ordo Virtutuum with the BBC Singers and the genre-defying Khwaa-ish with Rushil Ranjan.

National Youth Choir offers:
Transformative experiences: Our courses and concerts build musical excellence, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
Artistic innovation: From world premieres to recordings, singers are at the forefront of new choral music.
National impact: We open pathways for underrepresented singers, ensure financial barriers are minimized, and champion choral singing across the UK. We offer financial assistance to those that need it, so that no young person is excluded due to cost.
Lasting legacy: Our alumni continue to shape the choral world, locally and nationally, for generations to come.
National Youth Choir's impact extends far beyond the years that young people are eligible to sing in our choirs. We also run our Emerging Professional Artist Scheme, which cultivates the next generation of choral leaders, composers, conductors, and teachers.
Alumni from our choirs leave with more than musical excellence. Some go on to become professional singers (working with ensembles like The Sixteen or VOCES8), while many build careers as conductors, teachers, recording engineers, and music charity leaders — all while keeping singing alive in their communities.
National Youth Choir believes that singing is for everyone, and we have an important, sector-leading role to play as a champion of inclusive practice, influencing wider change in choral music and addressing social injustice. We are committed over the long-term to make the change we want to see.
