Experience National Youth Choir (18-25 Years) Are you ready for the best year of your life? If you are aged 18-24 and you love singing, National Youth Choir is your next big adventure. Who is this choir for? We are looking for enthusiastic singers who are passionate about choral singing Singers must be aged 18-24 inclusive on 31 August 2026 We particularly encourage applications from people whose backgrounds are currently under-represented in choral music. This includes lower voices, people from Black, Asian & global majority backgrounds and Disabled musicians Singers must be a British citizen or a resident of the UK at the time of application What will I get out of taking part? As a member of National Youth Choir (18-25 Years), you'll get access to world-class musical experiences, professional-level recording opportunities, once-in-a-lifetime international tours and a chance to make life-long friends. Performances & international tours Our singers are regularly offered amazing performance opportunities like the BBC Proms, Three Choirs Festival and Carols at the Royal Albert Hall. Every few years, the choir goes on tour. In spring 2024, they went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to South Africa. Recordings & commissions Singers take part in professional-level recordings throughout the year. The tracks they record are regularly played on national radio and get selected for curated playlists on streaming services. Because National Youth Choir works with composers to commission new music, singers often get to take part in world premiere performances and make 'first ever' recordings of new pieces. Residential courses In spring and summer, the choir meets for longer residential courses. These include opportunities for personal musical development like singing lessons, masterclasses and career advice forums. Singers have the chance to work with choral experts from across the UK - and there are often opportunities to learn from established artists like the BBC Singers and The Swingles. Friends for life Something you'll hear our singers say a lot is that National Youth Choir feels like a family. It's a place where anyone who loves singing can find like-minded friends from across the UK. Singers enjoy working together to organise course activities like a daily 'choir news' bulletin, football tournaments, morning yoga - plus evening events like jazz night and choir cabaret.
