Ensemble volunteers is a new National Youth Choir initiative that aims to strengthen ties between our organisation and parents, guardians and carers of choir members we are looking to welcome new parent/guardian/carer volunteers to help us raise awareness for national youth choir’s aims, ambitions and wider work amongst their community.

A pilot scheme ran in 2023, which included six parents of current members who kindly helped us to shape and test out this initiative. This included helping us to conduct welcome phone calls to parents of new members who had successfully auditioned to join the choir in the autumn.

As an Ensemble Volunteer, you will help us provide a warm welcome to parents, guardians and carers of new members, host special receptions attached to events and concerts that you’re already attending, provide invaluable feedback through online forums, and be general advocates and champions of our work.

Depending on your availability, your duties may include:

  • Helping to host Conductor and Concert Receptions in the spring and the
summer – meeting and speaking with other parents and invited guests.
  • Providing a welcome telephone call to 6-8 parents, guardians and carers
of new members who successfully audition to join the National Youth
    Choir in the autumn.
  • Taking part in occasional online forums, providing feedback and testing
    out new ideas and approaches.
  • Providing advice and support to parents in social media groups and at events.
  • Being advocates and champions of our wider work, future plans and fundraising.
