Next steps for singers attending a summer course

  • Book summer concerts from 17 June: Our summer end-of-course concerts will go on sale to parents at 10am on Wednesday 17 June. We will email all summer course attendees with more details.
  • Buy your purple polo shirt: All singers must bring an NYC purple polo with them on the course. These must be ordered in advance as they are not available to purchase on the course.
  • Prepare a solo song for your course: There will be masterclass and vocal coaching opportunities for singers on summer courses. If your singer wans to take part in these, they can learn a solo song and bring the sheet music with them. More info here
  • (For singers who use EpiPens or inhalers only) Complete your Action Plan: Keep an eye out for an email from our Head of Safeguarding, Joy Brereton, to discuss an EpiPen or inhaler Action Plan. Please complete the Action Plan and return to Joy - or get in touch if you think you've missed an email from us.
  • Arrange transport to and from the course: Families are responsible for organising singers' transport from home to the course, and from the concert venue back home again. Please double check the drop-off and pick-up times and venues carefully.
  • Check the packing list: If you want to get ahead, you can check whether your performance outfit fits and dig our your black folder so you're ready for the summer. View the packing list
  • Monday 1 June, midday - deadline for summer course fee balance payment

This page is for the families of National Youth Choir members who have already been awarded Financial Assistance.

You should have received an email from us telling the level of Financial Assistance we are able to offer you as a percentage. When you go to pay your course fees, this percentage should have already been deducted from your payment total.

As part of your Financial Assistance award, you can also claim back a portion of the money you have spent on participation costs. This means you can claim back a percentage of your costs for things like travel to courses, concert tickets and your purple polo shirt.

How to claim back a portion of your costs:

  1. Read our Policy for Financial Assistance claims. This tells you exactly which costs can be claimed back and lets you know what kind of receipts you need to provide. If you book something that isn’t covered, it will not be possible to claim back a portion of that cost.
Read Policy for Financial Assistance Claims

  2. Keep receipts from anything you book. To claim back costs, you need to have saved a copy of each receipt. A bank statement cannot be accepted instead of a receipt.

  3. Fill in the Financial Assistance claim form. The form will ask you to list the details of each cost you are claiming, and include your own back details so we can pay you.

  4. Send the completed form and copies of your receipts to us. You can email us on invoices@nationalyouthchoir.org.uk and attach a copy of the form, plus screenshots/PDFs of your receipts. Or if you prefer, you can print the form and send it with paper copies of your receipts to:
