To celebrate, we've created a short documentary featuring singers, composers and collaborators telling the story of our recording label and what it means to them. National Youth Choir Recordings was established in 2015. It shows the full breadth of music sung by the UK's finest young singers aged 9-25 as well as our Fellowship Ensemble and alumni. The works featured on the recording are by Jamie Powe, Crystalla Serghiou, Áine Mallon and Cameron Biles-Liddell, the four National Youth Choir Young Composers for 2024. Their works are based around the creative theme of ‘Evolve’, which coincides with the refresh of National Youth Choir’s ensemble names earlier last year. The National Youth Choir and NMC Recordings share the ethos of supporting emerging composers, enabling imaginative new choral music to be promoted through professional releases. Having their music released on NMC significantly raises awareness of the Young Composers, providing them with a calling card of their work from which their career can flourish.
